Wouldn’t it be nice if we could make up with our exes as smoothly and naturally as we used to make up with our old friends in elementary school? With nothing changed, and no hard feelings? Of course it would.
If you’re here, you most likely know that that’s what the Magic of Making Up system by T.W. Jackson promises. And you probably want to know if it really works, right? Well, that’s why I wrote this review.
First of all, let me say that I myself am lucky enough to be in a very healthy and rewarding relationship. Seeing as how I didn’t want to break up with my loving girlfriend just for the sake of writing this review, I instead have to rely on the feedback and others and my own judgment.
You see, I’m somewhat of a male-female relationship NUT. I’ve heavily studied everything from dating materials to relationship crisis materials. I was hearing so much hype about The Magic of Making Up that I HAD to purchase it to see if T.W. Jackson really knew his stuff.
I get the impression that many people will buy the book because of the promise of a ‘blueprint;’ The idea that the product will basically do all the work for them, with exact instructions on what to say, do, and how to act.
The book does indeed have a blueprint, even to the point of including a bonus prewritten and optimized LETTER that one can send to their ex, if they wish.
The second element of the book is what I’ll call general self-help and relationship philosophy. This is where I believe the real meat of the book to be. Even though I bought this book for entertainment and educational purposes, I have to admit that the featured techniques in the book such as tips to help you to avoid having arguments with a significant other have changed the way I look at my relationship.
One thing to be aware of in many books, this one being no exception, is the amount of ‘filler’ content. Many authors artificially pump the length of their book to justify the price tag, and sadly this one is no exception. There are a few pages full of what I consider to be ‘junk’ knowledge, like advice on what fruits and vegetables to eat. While I’m not undermining the importance of a healthy diet in any way, I do think that having several pages of content that simply list off different foods is an unnecessary detractor from this otherwise great book that’s mostly filled with nothing but the most professional advice.
Fortunately, there isn’t much else wrong with the book, and for the sake of being fair to the author, in the end the most important thing is whether or not the book delivers on its claims, and it does.
The writing style of T.W. Jackson is very personal, casual and disarming. It’s obvious that he is not a true professional in the classic sense of the word; but he also conveys that his vast experience and social skills put him in a position where he can offer help to others. Magic of Making Up gets the green light from me. The blueprint alone should justify the purchase for those who are serious about repairing a relationship, as it is a complete plan with complete steps to follow.
The unadvertised bonus of in-depth relationship philosophy that can help keep a relationship healthy AFTER it’s been mended is what really makes this product stand out from the competition.
Those who know me know that I’m careful with my recommendations, and I would never recommend a product that I don’t believe in. Take that as you will.
